Sunday we talked about God’s Story given to us in the Bible. Allow me to give the basic outline again for that story:
Song: “Marvelous Light” by Hall
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9 NIV)
Song: “First and the Last” by Morgan/Houston
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:12, 13 NIV)
Song: “Here For You” by Reeves/Wanstall/Maher/Redman
Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. (Isaiah 26:8 NIV)
Song: “Mighty to Save” by Sampson/Morgan
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. (Isaiah 60:1, 19 NIV)
Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” (Isaiah 63:1b NIV)

Evidence of the shroud is your neighbor who you may not even know is struggling just to put food on the table, and it’s the 30,000 who die everyday from hunger.
It’s in the estimated 27 million slaves in the world today – more than double the number of Africans enslaved in American history, and in people very dear to you, enslaved to addictive, destructive behavior.
We see it’s mark in the sexual immorality, rage, and murder in the darkest places of this world, and those very things in the darkness of our own hearts and minds.
There is no question: The kingdom is not here yet – Everything is not alright. But the Kingdom of Heaven is coming. Continue Reading…
